August 23 Forecast Comments

Well we hit on all cylinders last night except for the loonie which managed to hit its low.The last 3 times that we posted the forecast and a currency pair had already hit target many further pips were then achieved. It is a play that I sometimes take, to go further with the pair, but only to squeeze out some fast pips. At the very least it acts as a good indicator for that pairs direction.

I find it amazing the tolerance for risk that is back in the market after such crash last week. This is a pattern that is repeated over and over. A flee from risk is soon followed by a flee to risk. And pre-forecast trading scenario for me used to make me feel that the other shoe was going to drop at anytime with my trades. It was a feeling that I hated. Was I going to miss something if I did not trade? Or was I going to get sideswiped by going for the huge pips on a run. I am glad that I have my blinders on and have learned to trust the forecasts and be conservative and play within the parameters of "safe" risk. I know that I will lose, but I also know I will win more often.

Just look at the results....

Last night I posted the results of the forecasts for the meltdown and got confirmation once again that Intermarket Analysis in the Global sense of the world works. Could you have lost with the forecasts? Absolutely, but only if you strayed from the ranges, or felt you had to make a trade where non existed. Could have traded every currency pair every night and come out ahead? Yes, provided you had a proper stop loss.

The science of the forecasts allow for an "art" approach in how you play them. I pick 2 currencies, and stick with them over time. I learn how they move, and can quote their price on any given day. I am not going to tell you which 2 because I walk a tight line in trying not to influence your trades. I would prefer to have the forecasts tell you what to do, not me.

At any given time I have my real accounts running, and multiple demo accounts. I try different things all the time. The forecasts are about getting control over your trading and developing your own style. Style comes with time and practice. And since time flies, don't waste the valuable resource by not honing your style. If you are not using real money to trade I highly advise running a demo until you can have 2 consecutive profitable months. Don't be in a rush.

Have a great weekend. I will have your next forecast in time for the Sunday session. If you can avoid it I would advise not having any open trades over the weekend. The Sunday evening gap has been know to be a killer!
